GB’s Annual Sneaker and Turkey Drive 2020

I can’t think of a holiday that has a message as strong as Thanksgiving. You give, you share, you feel, you laugh, you cry, you eat, and you thank loved ones, and that is the beauty of Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is also about thanking and appreciating everything we have. Sometimes we get too busy with our daily lives to remind ourselves how blessed we are. Another great thing about Thanksgiving is the tradition of giving and sharing. It starts with sharing food with each other.
Though this year has been tough for everyone, we didn’t fail to continue our tradition amidst the pandemic, this winter season GB’s organized the Annual Sneaker and Turkey Drive on 23rd of November, Monday to give away free turkeys and collect sneakers. The sneakers collected were donated to help cancer research. 

Taking safety precautions of social distancing, wearing masks, checking temperature and making sure to sanitize first, the Annual Turkey drive started. We donated around 100 turkey’s to the people who were present at the event. We would like to thank our special guest and sponsor Tamika Mallory who was present at the event and gave away the turkeys.

Next the shoe drive started with collecting 50 pairs of sneakers. These sneakers were donated to help cancer research.  The Hempstead Chief of Police attended the event, which was a great honor. Also the Mayor of Hempstead gave us a Certificate of Recognition for this amazing event.

This event ended on a successful note from both the ends, we would like to thank all the people who had gathered at our Hempstead store and to all the people for their never ending support. It’s because of you we are what we are today. GB’s would make sure to continue to spread love and unity in the society and would be committed towards their goal “Giving back to the society” no matter what, until then Happy Holidays!!
