Air Jordan 12 Retro “Playoffs”
The Air Jordan 12 originally released in 1996 and was widely popular on the market. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the AJ12 had Japanese inspiration as the exterior stitch lines mimicked the “Rising Sun” motif of many Eastern ephemera. The 12 was also the first Air Jordan to feature Zoom Air, with a full-length cushion embedded into the sole. The “Playoffs” colorway originally dropped in 1997 and was worn by MJ throughout the Playoffs. It released again in 2004 and 2012.
The Air Jordan 12 ‘Playoffs’ will return in 2022 in its original form to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. Dubbed ‘Playoff’ due to Michael Jordan wearing the pair during the post-season. He also wore them for a few games in the NBA Finals, where Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls would take home the NBA Championship against the Utah Jazz.
Dressed in a Black, Varsity Red, and White color scheme. This “Playoffs” edition of the Air Jordan 12 will come constructed in original form featuring a Black leather upper with White appearing on the mudguard, midsole, and rubber outsole. Other details includes Metallic Silver upper eyelets and Red covering the branded areas.
