On November 27th, 2024, GBNY partnered with Cornerstone Community to host a Thanksgiving Turkey Drive that brought together the spirit of giving and celebration. Held at the iconic GB'S Jamaica Colosseum Mall in Queens, New York, the event was a beacon of holiday cheer, offering a warm and welcoming environment for families in need.
From 4 PM to 7 PM, attendees lined up to receive free turkeys, a generous gesture made possible by the partnership between GBNY and Cornerstone Community. With turkeys distributed while supplies lasted, the event ensured that many households in the area would have the key ingredient for a joyful Thanksgiving dinner.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, a live DJ spun tunes that kept the crowd energized and in high spirits. The music echoed throughout the mall, turning the event into a mini celebration of its own. From holiday classics to upbeat tracks, the DJ created the perfect soundtrack for a day of giving.
A special highlight of the evening was the appearance of none other than Jim Jones, the renowned rapper and philanthropist. His presence added a touch of excitement to the event, and attendees were thrilled to see a local celebrity supporting such an important cause. Jim Jones is well-known for his charitable efforts and his participation in the Turkey Drive only strengthened his connection to the community.
