As we enter the fall season, our holiday mode gets activated. So be it, who doesn’t like holidays! With holiday – comes happiness, gifts, family & friends gathering, family dinner, praying together and a lot of travel. But Thanksgiving is all about being thankful and giving back to society. So, we at GB’s organize a sneaker and turkey drive for the less fortunate and celebrate holiday season with good vibes.
As per GB’s moto Giving Back to the society, this year, as well as GBNY annual Sneaker and Turkey Drive, was on Tuesday 26th November. This giving back to the community holiday event is held a GB’s in the Jamaica Colosseum Mall. Sponsored by honorable Jim Jones, Nigel Sylvester, and CEO Slow, this was a free event open to the public and free food and giveaways for all. Just in time for Thanksgiving, we handed out Turkeys, around 500!
In the Shoe drive, we ask people to donate new or gently used shoes. These shoes will be given to children that are battling cancer. We are thankful to all the people who donated shoes.
The event was a great success and people from all walks of life gathered at GB’s and had their turkey, free giveaways and food – all under one roof, this represents love and unity in our society, and we are just the medium.
