Nike Air Force 1 '07 “Black & Summit White”

The previous 11 months have seen the Nike Air Force 1 mark its 40th birthday in style. Bruce Kilgore's renowned design, which boasts history and contemporary designs, also took inspiration from other vintage basketball shoes from the past, such as the Air Command Force from 1991.

The 40-year-old silhouette previously paid homage to the edgy, obvious Air unit-wearing Nike Basketball sneaker by appropriating its classic "Lion Blue" and "Bright Crimson" color scheme. The most recent design indulges in a much more subdued layout, with collar lining and profile swooshes breaking up the otherwise "colorless" outfit. Traditional logo strikes on the tongue labeling and upper heel of the Air Force 1 Low are swapped out with language that is styled like the Air Command Force. To give the sole unit underfoot an "aged" appearance appropriate for the anniversary party, it prefers a semi-yellowed finish. Last but not least, the frequently replicated traction features a light gum brown that is guaranteed to appeal to a wide audience.
